Code Reuse

Definition updated on November 2023

What is code reuse in software?

Code reusability is the capacity to repurpose previously produced code when developing new software applications. Code reuse should ideally be simple to implement and allow for the unrestricted usage of any stable, useful code when creating new software applications. Unfortunately, this is not the case; it is crucial to make sure that the reused code is suitable and compatible with the software application. Code reuse, often known as software reuse, is the practice of using pre-existing software or software expertise to create new software while adhering to the reusability criteria.
