Definition updated on November 2023

What are proxies?

Inbound requests from clients are received by a computer connected to the internet through a proxy server, which then forwards them to the target server. It serves as a conduit for connecting end users to the internet. Its IP address is unique. The web server and client systems are cut off from the larger network.
